Environmental acceptable use of sewage sludge in soil remediation


Calibration of analytical systems for the following study of the dehydrated sewage sludge addition effect on the growth of selected plants was realized. The samples of dried sewage sludges obtained at the scheduled project partners meeting (2013, April 10th held in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of SS. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava) have been analysed using the basic chemical analytical procedures (conventional preparation of the samples for analytical procedures,

determination of pH-value, cation-exchange capacity CEC, carbonates). Obtained samples of dried sewage sludge and by the newly manufactured pelleting equipment produced soil additives derived from the given sewage sludge were analysed and characterized according to conventional and special chemical analytical procedures (pH, pHzpc, cation-exchange capacity CEC, water holding capacity, granularity, determination of carbonates, elemental analysis - especially for heavy metals, total organic carbon content).
